Welcome to

Congregation Poale Zedeck

A Modern

Synagogue Serving Jews of all ages

Founded in 1881, Poale Zedeck has been serving the Pittsburgh Jewish Community for almost 140 years.  We are a dynamic place for prayer and learning and our community strives to be a warm and friendly place, a haimish environment.

On a regular Shabbat morning, we welcome over 200 adults to our main sanctuary for prayer, study, and community.  There is also free child care for infants and preschoolers and a vibrant and energetic Junior Congregation for school-age children.

During the week, Poale Zedeck hosts multiple daily minyanim to meet the diverse needs of our community and there are numerous opportunities for learning.  Poale Zedeck offers a full range of adult education classes from beginner to advanced levels on topics including Bible, Talmud, Practical Observance, Rabbinic Responses, Jewish Mysticism, Modern Hebrew, and Contemporary Jewish Issues.

There are also many opportunities to participate in community outings, adult evenings, family trips, and we even host an annual camping trip!

Our community is committed to learning, to supporting each other, and to being a welcoming place for all who join us. Our doors are open. Find your place at Poale Zedeck.
